Some might ask,“what’s the advantage of disc brakes on a BMX race bike?”From our perspective, one advantage is aesthetically the frames just look cleaner. Especially with an integrated caliper mount. Second advantage? Your youngest racers don’t have a lot of hand strength and with a quality hydro disc set up, slowing down and stopping becomes a breeze for them. The third appealing feature of disc brakes is that they require virtually zero maintenance. No continual adjusting of the brake arms to centre them, no cable stretching leading to a decline in braking performance. Heaven we reckon.
